Mixed Reality Mobile Interactive Experience
Suffolk Stories is a mixed reality mobile game that invites players to discover the fascinating history of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in his native town, Ipswich. As players explore the city, they'll encounter experiences that bring the past to life, including historical landmarks and characters from the 16th century. Along the way, they'll solve puzzles, uncover secrets, and learn about the political and cultural climate of the time.
The purpose of this game is to be used in a private study conducted by the University of Suffolk that tries to find out if games can help out in remembering information easier. Upon the study's conclusion, the game will be uploaded to the public as well in order to encourage interest in the history of Ipswich and Thomas Wolsey.
In this Unity project, my responsibility was to create a game with a small group of individuals within a span of less than two months.
I was specifically tasked with designing UI mock-ups and then implementing them with animations and VFX, as well as designing AR gameplay mechanics and improving the User Experience based on playtesting.
This experience taught me how to deliver a high-quality product in a deadline-oriented setting, all while effectively communicating and working together with my colleagues.
